A Child’s-Eye Christmas:
Using imagination to tell a story of solidarity
Context
For its Christmas campaign, Secours Populaire wanted a short, warm, and accessible animated film, one that would highlight the importance of their actions during the holiday season.
The goal was to deliver a message of solidarity through a simple, heartfelt story seen through a child’s eyes.
The film needed to evoke the magic of Christmas while showcasing the very real impact Secours Populaire has on families.
Solution
We imagined a 30-second film told through the eyes of Ellie, 8 years old. In her own words and through her imagination, she revisits her most wonderful Christmas:
a box of Legos turning into an ocean of play, a small show becoming a magical journey, a family meal glowing with warmth.
By her side, Bobby, her big gentle and mischievous dog, brings a unique personality to the film and adds tenderness and complicity.
The animation adopts a warm and textured style inspired by children’s drawings, allowing us to move naturally between real moments and imaginary ones.
The result is a short, poetic, and uplifting story that gently shines a light on the mission of Secours Populaire.
